Hello. Lilly here. Unlike some of you, I have no background whatsoever in film. I'm just a lover of great movies and appreciative of outstanding artists. In my view, Connie Veidt was one of the most enigmatic performers of the 20th century. His dedication to his craft was undeniable; his work a living art form and a true testament to his will to create something completely original, exciting, and fresh. This board was recommended to me by one of your current members. I won't name her; don't want to embarrass her. Either way, I'll post when I can---I work crazy hours (midwife)---but if I can't I'll try to at least pop in and see what everyone's discussing. Welcome Lilly! Always happy to have a new member and you sound like you are a true Conrad Veidt fan. You will find only the best info here. Let me direct you immediately to Monica's youtube page and her webpage in honor of Mr. Veidt. conradveidt.wordpress.com/www.youtube.com/user/ConnieVeidtOf course you are probably already a member Thanks for making me feel welcome, Lenore! I'll definitely check out Monica's page.

Hello to everyone... I'm an "old" gal from Germany. I live in the north of Germany - the town called Hannover. I'm a fan of Connie for a very short period. So be patient with me if I asked or write something stupid *g Monica knows what I'm talking about. Cause of her lovely side she was my first contact and I bothered her a lot the last few weeks haha Of course I know "Cabinet of.." since my childhood, but "The man who laughs" and "Orlac's hands" (in February!) was the "epiphany" for me. And it was the "fault" of my best friend who bothered me to watch them. The DVDs lay around here for over a year - unwatched! But that is not unusual - cause I collect DVDs and sometimes I watch them long after the buying. Sadly Connie is nearly unknown here. Like Peter Lorre, I'm also a fan of. You can find me at Brenda's own forum Wish everyone a lovely week! Birgit

Hello, my name is Roxanne. I've become very interested in Conrad Veidt again. I had a major crush on him in my early '20's, my sister and I saw Cabinet of Dr. Caligari at Donnell Library Center. We thought he was so graceful and lovely and he must have been a dancer . Then I was like totally into everything I can see of him and into German Expressionist movies as well. I follow Monica's blog on wordpress and her youtube page, also steal her photos to use on my own tumblr page, sorry, but I'm a big fan! He was such a Super Human being, a true humanitarian, it's no wonder he's so popular today.
