It doesn't necessarily have to be a part he was denied because of his untimely death.
One role I would have LOVED to see Connie play is the Phantom from "Phantom of the Opera" (Andrew Lloyd Webber's version). Sorry, Brenda! I know I once told you that I wanted to see Peter Lorre play that part but thinking more on it I figured he would more suited to another pairing with Sydney Greenstreet (Warner Bros. favorite duo) in the roles of the two new owners of the Opera House. I figure Peter could play Msr. Andre and Sydney could be Msr. Fermin.
I think Connie would have loved that role. He would have such a wide range of emotions to have to play. I watch him and Vivian Leigh on the balcony of the bar in "Dark Journey" and I am just dying to have him put his arm around her from behind and start singing "Music of the Night"
As I eluded to in the dream I posted in another thread, I think he would have done an excellent job as Professor Rankin. I also think he would have done a good job playing the ex-Nazi Gunte Lutze in the Twilight Zone Episode "Death's-Head Revisited" He would have been reunited with his old "All Through The Night" co-star Kaaren Verne if he had played that part.
Anyhow those would be my first three choices.

I would have LOVED to see him in the movie Laura, with Gene Tierney, in the role of the criminal lover - that role was made for him. And, as I am also a great fan of Yul Brynner, I would have liked to see Yul and Connie in a spy movie together.

Yes, Brenda! She played the innkeeper at the beginning of the episode. She is onscreen for maybe 4 to 5 minutes and then you don't see her again for the rest of the episode. Here's the link: www.imdb.com/video/cbs/vi2006451993/and I agree, having Connie play Ashenden alongside Peter would have been great!

Yes, I guess Conrad would have suited the role of the General butt he would have done well playing Ashenden since he used to get along well with Peter Lorre (they used to make a great ping-pong team during the shooting of "FP1...)
