This must be my favourite Hollywood film with Connie. His partnership with Norma Shearer (who worshiped him) and with Robert Taylor, plus the direction of Mervyn LeRoy, a true master, made this film quite unique. BUT: If you look at the trailer of the film, you will observe that Connie and Norma are interpreting in a different way the final scene. In the actual version, the General has a stroke, but in the trailer, he pushes the Countess, and they have a real fight. Also some very nice close-ups of Connie (that appear in the trailer) were later deleted from the film. I really don't know why... Attachments:

Excellent clip. Movies just had a different feel back then. Wonderful performances.
