Thanks so much for posting all these materials! Der Kongreß tanzt is one of those films I can watch (and sing along with) over and over. Connie was quite entertaining as Metternich, a historical figure who himself was quite entertaining. I had never seen any of the English version; it’s interesting to compare to the ‘original’ German: in some places they’re so similar, it’s…I don’t know, almost eerie somehow, I keep feeling like I’m hearing wrongly! But then in other places, the dialogue seems a little stiffer than the German version—not quite natural. But perhaps it just seems that way to me because I’m so used to the German version.

Der Kongress tanzt is one of the films with Connie that I will watch on Christmas holiday.

I love the smile of Conrad in each of his films, but in this, playing a character with only few dark thoughts find a cheerful smile.
