Mary Ellen, I also found out that Dark Journey was shown on tv in the 1950's, and the version was 105 minutes - I suppose without commercials. It was shown several times, from 10:30 to 12:15!
I also discovered a very interesting interview of Connie, during the filming of Dark Journey. He said he found the character interesting because of his double life, and he also says that he suspects from the very beginning Vivien's character and that he then falls in love with her. A very interesting perspective, and I will include this interview on my website's weekly updates. I also found an interview of director Victor Saville from the winter of 1936, when the movie was still under the process of cutting, and he said that the movie has some comical moments in the beginning, and then it becomes a serious espionage thriller. I suppose that lots of comic scenes were deleted, because there are few comic scenes left in the cut version.

I would love to read Connie's interview. I can hardly wait until you get it posted.

Connie: You forgot my most important asset. Viv: What's that? Connie: That you love me! Why are you trying to resist? You won't succeed. Viv: How do you know I won't? Connie: Because I tried, but I couldn't. Attachments:
