As there have been few topics for discussion on the board lately, I was thinking about starting a new thread - movies in which Connie should have starred.
I consider that he would have been great as Waldo Lydecker in Laura, with Gene Tierney. He would have had the same face and attitude like in A Woman's Face.
Those who have seen Laura know what I mean...

I have just seen today the extraordinary film The Life of Emile Zola, and I am strongly convinced that even if Paul Muni was excellent, Conrad would have turned this film into his greatest performance, and he would have certainly received an Oscar for Best Actor. Connie himself said in an interview that he saw the film and he wished he would have starred in it, because he would have played the role in a different way than Muni. I highly recommend you to watch this masterpiece of 1937, nominated for 10 Academy Awards and winner of 3!

Harlequin (1980), the character of Gregory Wolfe. From Wikipedia : "The film is a modern-day version of the Rasputin story; the major characters have the same first names as Rasputin and the Romanov royal family, and their family name 'Rast' is simply 'Tsar' backwards. Hemmings plays an up-and-coming senator, Nick Rast, whose young son is terminally ill with leukaemia. A mysterious faith healer, Gregory Wolfe (Powell), appears and seems to cure the boy. Rast's wife Sandy (Duncan) falls in love with Wolfe, but the powerful interests behind Rast's career, represented by geriatric monster Doc Wheelan (Crawford) are less happy with events."
